The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. When they asked us to help them explain why choosing their products is so important, we knew we needed to craft a thoughtful, provoking story that reflected on the overwhelming beauty of the natural world.

 Design & Direction

Starting from the ground up, we developed a script with writer Nick Blagrave that amplifies the forest’s voice in tandem with cinematic imagery that embodies the epic scope of the natural world. We aimed to treat the story like a visual poem that also provides clear, concise information on how FSC makes a difference.

Building this huge little world was a daunting and exhilarating task. We loved the process of creating rich textural scenes loaded with symbolism and natural splendor.

Script

A wild strength,
A gathering, elemental force.
Covering a third of our world.
Alive with whipping wind, rushing rivers, the calls and cries of animals.

The forest roars with the life it sustains.
But it has no voice of its own.

Unless our voices become a chorus.
Unless we take a stand.

By choosing products bearing the FSC label.

A stand against illegal logging and deforestation.
A stand for protecting rare and endangered animals.
For workers’ rights.
For sustainable practices.
For the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

A simple stand. A wild difference.
